     Sulfur flower is a ground spreading perennial with woody branching.
      The interesting thing about the plant is its root. It is edible and quite large. A common weight is 5-15 pounds, but has been recorded up to 87 pounds. This large root can be baked or boiled, an excellent survival food for groups.
